Batutumonga

Batutumoga is another tourist place that you should visit when you come to Tana Toraja. This place located in the Sesean Mountain, the highest mountain in Tana Toraja. In this area, you can see the beautiful scenery of Tana Toraja and also feel the fresh air of the mountain. You can also see traditional houses surrounded by rice field or sawah in this area. It will be superb if you enjoy it with Toraja coffee and traditional snacks.  

If you are not enough satisfied, you can try this activity. You can have some jogging in the morning or before sunrise. You may just walk and go through the fog which is bringing a sensation like you are flying in the sky.

There are also some homestay in this area ready to welcome you. It is nice choice to stay in this area if you want to feel the silence of the mountain. Homestay in this area are just simple building but don’t worry because they are clean. Each owner keeps traditional impression in their homestay in order to make you comfortable to stay. 

You can go to this place by using public transportation or rent a car. You can find public transportation or car rent in pasar Bolu, Rantepao. Your trip from Rantepao to Batutumonga will take about 30 – 1 hour.

FYI, you have to be careful if you want to go to this place because you will face deep valley on your trip.
